Do you combine shipping? Does Tamer Animals ship internationally?

1) Yes, we totally combine shipping to save you some $$$! Just ask! 2) Unfortunately, we do not ship outside of the United States at this time. If this changes, we will update our policies.

Will you take less for an item/give me free shipping/etc?

Although, of course, it never hurts to ask, we typically do not accept less for our items or offer free shipping. We know money can be tight for folks and want to be reasonable with our rates. That's why we not only sell most items well below their typical market value but also run frequent sales and promotions to help offset the cost. But we are also operating a business and believe that we price our products fairly based on the current market and over 15 years of expertise.

Gift wrapping and packaging

We package every item with care and want our customers to feel like they are receiving a gift! Packaging is very important to us and a priority on every item. Sometimes we even include bonus items if available. We appreciate the tangible qualities of packaging and like to send not only items but an experience. That being said, if you are sending an item as a gift, we can definitely giftwrap it and even add a note for the occasion! Just let us know what you need!

Sizing details

Vintage sizes typically differ from modern sizes depending on the era. While we try our best to measure items appropriately, please measure yourself (or a similar garment you own) to get an idea of if the item will be a good fit for you. And feel free to ask for any measurements we might not list if it would be beneficial for you! We usually list a range (i.e. "28-30 inches")-- 28 being the most comfortable fit and 30 being the maximum fit.

For our handmade items, we definitely do custom or personalized orders! Just message us and we can talk about what you need!

Care instructions

Vintage items are typically previously loved and generally have slight imperfections from age and wear. Usually we note any major flaws and most minor ones but we're human, too. Care varies depending on the type of fabric, age, and condition of garments. There are many web sites around now that give in-depth information about different fabrics and eras that might be helpful for washing garments or restoring them. Also, we're smoke-free but we do have a cat. We do our best to keep pet hairs away from our studio but a stray hair or two is possible. Our vintage items come from a variety of places so keep that in mind when purchasing as we may not know if they came from a smoke-free or pet-free place.

Handmade + Vintage: Imperfections?

We do our best to rate the vintage pieces we have based on condition and quality. As vintage items are not new, there are often slight imperfections like pinholes or mends. We usually will list any major imperfections but on occasion if they are interior small mends, slight wash wear, or do not greatly detract from wear we will not list them as they are standard issues for vintage items and just part of wearing vintage. We do our best to take good photos and are always open to answer questions if these are concerns for you. Most of our handmade items are made with perfection in mind, but some (our banners, for example) intentionally have imperfections as part of their "style." This is noted in our handmade listings that have those features.

Do You Combine Shipping?

Yes! Totally! Just message us with what items you are wanting and we will set up a special listing for you with reduced shipping cost.

May I "reserve" an item?

We will hold any item (or multiple, if you are planning to combine shipping) for up to 48 hours. Just let us know and we will mark them accordingly. After that, the item will be taken off reserve.

A Note on Colors and Monitors

While we try our best to describe items to the best of our ability, many monitors have different color settings. Please be advised that some colors may not appear in real life 100% exactly as what you see on the screen depending on your monitor/color preferences. I usually do my best to match the photos to the real life item on my own screen but some screens may show up differently. If this is a potential problem for you, or if colors seem very bright/dull and you are worried, please feel free to message us to confirm the colors before purchasing! We want you to be satisfied with your item so PLEASE ask questions if you have any concerns about colors!
